I had the opportunity to meet Governor Bush at the 20th Annual Prevention Conference in Orlando where I was commissioned to draw three cartoons for Governor Bush, the first lady, and Secretary McDonough. This is the cartoon that I drew for Governor Bush as a tribute to his 8 year term as Governor of Florida.

The cartoon is depicting him as a “technologically savvy” governor editing his pictures on “Gov-Space” (a take off of the ever so popular Myspace). In the four pictures, Governor Bush is seen “battling hurricanes”, “increasing literacy”, “conquering the FCAT”, and “tackling the ‘BHAG’”. (BHAG is a term coined by Governor Bush himself as something “you have to conquer or it will eat you”. Bush deemed substance abuse among youth as the “BHAG” of FL, and as a result successfully cut the high ratings in half.)
